Deviation Actions
Hello, my friends and newcomers, I've decided to kick off an AWESOME contest. It's about time, right? I haven't done anything like this for a while.
So, it's time for the Christmas Short Story Contest!
Have you ever wanted to create your own Christmas story? Have you ever wanted to just sit down and think, think, think of another story that will capture the minds of readers for years to come? Have you...
Oh, come on. Here's the gist of the matter. Now is your chance to use/develop your talents. Create your own Christmas story. Use anything that runs around in that fantastic mind. There are many different ways to write a short story, so you're not boggled down on too many rules. Just write concisely and have fun. You won't be disappointed. The sky is the limit, along with the cosmos for that matter as well.
Information on the Contest
The info is actually quite simple. You will have almost complete control over the creation of your short story. All you have to do is make sure that it is a short story.
There are tons of ways to write a short story but most end soon after the climax. I.e. you have your exposition, rising action, climax, and sometimes a resolution. Falling action can sometimes be found in short stories, but it isn't something the author wants to dwell on. For example, take a look at Poe's The Cask of Amontillado, Mansfield's Bliss and/or - one of my personal favorites - Hurston's The Gilded Six Bits
I also refer you to the following link. This ebook is USA domain and can be read online or downloaded:
So, have fun studying up and/or writing. If you have any questions, simply send a note to me.
About the Contest
You will be creating your own Christmas story. I don't care how horrific it is, how romantic it is, how ridiculous it is. Simply abide by the rules listed below.
Allow your creative juices to flow. Show your imagination. Create new Christmas characters, a whole new world that never had Christmas until this coming one, or Aliens that try to describe our Christmas traditions to their fellows. Anything's possible.
Some of you do not celebrate Christmas. If you want to celebrate another holiday that exists around the same time as Christmas, please do so. If you're an Atheist, create a holiday that revolves around certain Christmas values. Just make sure you specify in your Artist Comments below the deviation!

Self realization
My self realization and the need to dig deeper in understanding the dark parts of myself led me to writing poetry and lyrics for my music. It made me able to Consciously see these behaviors. I'd write out these parts of myself in a way that seemed fucked up and in need of change. If anybody relates and needs help with the same, I'm providing a subscription to my self healing writings. Thank you everyone. New content will be added consistently.

Quick Update
I've been more than crazy busy. I teach eight classes at a placement facility and am finishing up my Secondary Ed Cert as an Intern. So much more to that, but there really isn't any point in actually boring any of you fine people.
Important Stuff
I've finally finished one of my children's book. You'll see that it's more of a early chapter book than anything else, but it is meant to have pictures. I'm hoping that an agent will eventually like the story enough to take it on, so enjoy it for now. If you have any kids, test this on them an let me know your thoughts! I'm sure it won't scar them all that much. :D And if you a
Info and... [UPDATE]
UPDATE: I recently removed some of my poetry to send 'em out for pub. (Unfortunately, none were picked. :shakefish: Which reminds me - anyone have any magazine/zine submission suggestions?) I will now be putting them back up again. Unless I have an overwhelming call to keep a piece in my dA gallery, I will likely be doing this a lot. After all, a guy has gotta continue to get his stuff published, right? So, you can either feel free to be annoyed with me or :glomp: me to death. :D
UPDATE OVER
Hmmmm, what to say? Should I tell you all now or let the anticipation fester and turn into seething frustration that boils over tired hearts?

Devious Journal Entry
Guess what! Because a certain someone was more than kind enough to donate a subscription to me for flyin' friggin' 3 months, I can now you my journal skin again! Isn't ~TheseKrimzonFlames (https://www.deviantart.com/thesekrimzonflames) awesome?!
Speaking of the devil/demon (pun totally intended), he brought up an interesting point via compliment that got me thinking. It's true that I love to write poetry and short stories, along with dabbling in some of the visual arts, but a lot of people seem to find my tutorials useful.
My most recent, Flashbulb Poetry: How to Write , is completely conceptual in essence but practical in technique and...well...practice.

NaPoWriMo Challenge
I've sent this challenge to my friends Facebook, Twitter, and DeviantArt.
My NaPoWriMo challenge: I didn't event think about this 'til now, but I think we can all catch up. (It's a week late, but the posts will be so small it shouldn't be too much of a bother.)
During the month of April, let's celebrate the art of poetry through your clever writing. Every day, post a small piece newly created poetry on your twitter account. With characters at a minimum, this can be moderately challenging since your words will still have to have the desired impact you wish. Even if you don't write much poetry, this is the challenge you need; writing poetry w
